Russia: Passenger Plane with 49 On Board Missing in Far East

A passenger aircraft with 49 people on board has gone missing in Russia’s Far East, according to reports from Russian news agencies Interfax and SHOT.
The missing plane is an Antonov An-24, a twin turboprop aircraft operated by Angara Airlines, a regional carrier based in Siberia. The flight was headed to Tynda, a town in the Amur region, which borders China.

- According to Reuters, citing the local emergencies ministry, the aircraft disappeared from air traffic control radar while approaching Tynda.
- The flight was expected to land in the early hours of Thursday, but contact was lost just before arrival.
