Brno, Czech Republic – July 20, 2025
Marc Marquez has tightened his iron grip on the 2025 MotoGP World Championship with a commanding win at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno, marking his 70th career MotoGP victory and extending his championship lead after a disastrous day for title rival—and younger brother—Alex Marquez.
🔥 Race Recap: Marquez Shines, Alex Stumbles
The race delivered early drama and high-stakes action, beginning with Francesco Bagnaia launching off from pole position. However, Marc Marquez, racing for the factory Ducati team, wasted no time in asserting dominance. After a short exchange with Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi, Marquez reclaimed the lead on lap 8 of 21 and never looked back.
Meanwhile, it was a nightmare weekend for Alex Marquez. After a lackluster sprint race finish in P17, the younger Marquez tried an aggressive move on Joan Mir early in the main race that went horribly wrong. Both riders crashed out, dramatically hurting Alex’s championship hopes.
“You hate to see it—especially when it’s your own brother giving you the title boost,” one paddock insider quipped.

🏍️ What’s Next?
The MotoGP caravan now heads into the second half of the season with momentum clearly on Marc Marquez’s side. While Alex Marquez will be desperate to regroup and stay in the hunt, the points gap is becoming an uphill climb.
The next round is expected to be a showdown at the Austrian GP in Spielberg, where KTM will look to shine on home turf and Alex must bounce back—fast.
